About Our Editors

We're very pleased to offer the investment advice and insights from two of your InvestorPlace Media editors on the InvestorPlace Asia site. These editors include Robert Hsu and Jeff Manera, who both have great insights into Asia and emerging markets around the globe. Let's take a brief look at both Robert and Jeff now.

About Robert Hsu

Robert Hsu has been making money for years by watching Asia's growth and identifying trends that deliver the greatest return on my clients' money. As one of the leading experts on investing in China's economy, Robert advises people every single day on how a China strategy will truly take them to a new level of investing. Here's a bit about Robert and his credentials.

Robert Hsu

Robert was born in Taiwan and raised in Southern California. He's an American citizen and shares a heritage with more than a billion ethnic Chinese around the world. He's spoken English his entire life, but he speaks, reads and writes Mandarin fluently.

Being proficient in Chinese is not the reason that Robert has been able to successfully invest in Asian markets -- although it hasn't hurt. After all, there are more than a billion other people in the world who can read Chinese and have an ethnic background similar to mine. That's obviously not what makes Robert unique. What sets him apart from other investors is his history of investment success, and his understanding of what's happening across Asia today.

Robert started his career as a trader and analyst for a global macro hedge fund and was then hired by Goldman Sachs, the world's premier investment firm. He learned a great deal about every aspect of international markets while at Goldman, and put that expertise to good use.

Robert eventually took his knowledge of international equities, interest rates, currencies, and commodities markets with him to start his own firm, Absolute Return Capital Advisors. He have offices in Century City, situated right next to Beverly Hills and Hollywood.

He also oversees Pearl River Capital Management, a private investment partnership that focuses on China. This firm takes long positions relative to the Chinese economy, and shorts emerging markets that lag China.

Robert has three extremely successful investment newsletters, China Strategy, Asia Edge and Inside China Dispatch. China Strategy, in particular, has become one of the largest subscription-based services in the U.S. since its launch in 2006.

In order to stay on top of investment opportunities across Asia, Robert employs a team of analysts in the Mainland to keep me up-to-date with information relevant to my current holdings as well as potential new investments. He also reads Chinese newspapers and periodicals while at home in California and travels several times a year to visit the Mainland. Robert firmly believes that getting firsthand information has been crucial to his success.

What else? Robert lives in Beverly Hills with his wife and two children. Even though he's worked and traveled all over the world, he likes Southern California for a number of reasons. Robert likes the weather, driving his convertible with the top down all year long, the exotic restaurants, and the energy and excitement that comes with being in a place that is on the cutting edge of everything from food to fashion.

Beyond that, Robert likes building hiswealth, and the fact that his job makes other people wealthy, too.

Robert's investment advice is that now, more than ever, investors looking to build their wealth must look outside of the U.S. for real and sustainable growth. To attain superior absolute return in the new century, buy-and-hold U.S. stocks are just not going to deliver the profits that he thinks every investor should expect. And in looking to make the biggest returns, Robert's found that the single best place to find great returns is China, where the economy continues to grow almost 10% a year.

About Jeff Manera

For over 10 years, Jeff Manera has been helping people realize their financial dreams by recommending market-beating profitable stocks and options.

Jeff Manera

Jeff has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Finance. For six years -– 1998 to 2003 -– Jeff worked as the Senior Financial Analyst and Associate Editor of Undiscovered Stocks. During that six-year stint, the newsletter accumulated an average annual return of 27%. And he achieved these returns with a low-risk, long-only, diversified portfolio. At that time, Jeff focused on a globally diversified portfolio in emerging technologies with explosive growth potential.

During the same time, Jeff was Associate Editor and Chief Trader for several other dynamic trading services focusing on explosive growth industries such as emerging tech and biotechnology, including Blazing Hot Tech Stocks and Red-Hot Options Hotline.

Then Jeff used his expertise to provide portfolio management advisory services, as well as hedge fund and broker-dealer consulting. Some of the portfolios that Jeff managed during that time included several NFL Miami Dolphin players.

From 2004 to 2007, Jeff was the Executive Editor of Superstock Investor, where his portfolio was conservative and consisted of U.S. stocks, international positions, hedging and currency ETF positions, as well as a bunch of takeover candidates. His recommendations in this newsletter soundly beat the markets each year with a ton of triple-digit returns.

Jeff also launched his own newsletter PowerHouse Options in 2004. And in this newsletter, over the past four years, he's been averaging 100% annualized returns.

Now Jeff is bringing his expertise to G3 Global Options -- an investment advisory service that focuses on profiting from the world's emerging markets through simple put and call options. To learn more about this service, check out his G3 Global Options website.

To keep up with what's happening overseas, Jeff has three TiVos running 24 hours a day to capture late night financial news in Asia and around the globe. He also has his own R&D company that he started to work on alternative energy research and ultra-high-mileage cars with local engineers.
